Wizards' DnD Downloads Dead?

I don't really get that message. I just get a page that says, "This feature not yet live, wait while we redirect you," or words to that effect.

It then brings you to the homepage with its DDI login area, which implies that a DDI account will now be necessary in order to download these previously freely available download.

I hope that's not the case.

I guess I just assumed all redirects took you to the same place. I don't browse the WotC boards much at all anymore unless someone directs me there so I wouldn't know.

Still, I would hesitate to react to strongly one way or the other till the actual feature is rolled out.

I figure that since the file are all still there, this is more an issue with the breaking of the link, and not some attempt to take them away from us.
It will likely get fixed when the web-team has some free-ish time, since it's not exactly a high priority page of the site or anything.

Dude, if you haven't downloaded them by now, I've got no sympathy.

No tragedy, IMO, if/when WotC takes the free downloads off the net for good. As stated above, they've been available for years and I've got no beef if WotC decides to offer classic products as a part of DDI.

I have... and I didn't ask for, or care, if I had your sympathy. I merely stated my misgivings about WotC's stewardship of the D&D line, which are growing stronger as time goes on.
