Wizards of the Coast Releases Exodus TTRPG

Wizards of the Coast has released their new sci-fi TTRPG Exodus, which ties into the upcoming video game of the same name. This week, Wizards posted the Traveler's Handbook and the Exodus Encyclopedia for sale on their Exodus webpage. The new RPG was designed by James Ohlen, the lead developer of the Exodus video game as well as past hits like Baldur's Gate 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Based on a free-to-download character sheet and a description of the TTRPG, it appears that the Exodus TTRPG uses the 5E game system, but with updates to make the game sci-fi themed. The Traveler's Handbook comes with four Exodus-themed classes, with two subclasses as well as various weapons and six powerful "Traveler Dynasties" that appear to be in-game factions. Meanwhile, the Exodus Enclyclopedia includes stat blocks for various constructs, Celestials, and human NPCS, as well as new items.

The Exodus video game is set to be released in 2026 and is intended to be a AAA video game available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

I wish the Exodus web page included a little bit more about the game world and the setting. I'm unfamiliar with the game or the setting, but I'm, like, kinda interesting in seeing more? But then the page opens and all I really see is a few pictures and an "ADD TO CART" button.

Why would I buy something based on so little information? Gimme something!!!

Look at the prices. I own the Exodus Traveler's Handbook ($28.55), and it is a chonky one with awesome content. I am absolutely getting the Exodus Encyclopedia ($35.99), which is basically a Monster Manual+.

Anyways they said Archetype studios project was going to not just be a video game, but a transmedia project and it clearly is.

AAA Video Game, Episode of Sci Fi Anthology show on Amazon Prime, great Novel, and now TTRPG. I wonder what's next, Exodus album? Comic Book? Tattoos? Exodus Rootbeer? Exodus Whiskey, aged to perfection?

Comics seem plausible. Magic cards, probably?

I may test the waters and buy. I wonder if you can do Mass Effect-lite basically with it since I've heard Exodus get compared to Mass Effect here and there.
