Wizards of the Coast has released their new sci-fi TTRPG Exodus, which ties into the upcoming video game of the same name. This week, Wizards posted the Traveler's Handbook and the Exodus Encyclopedia for sale on their Exodus webpage. The new RPG was designed by James Ohlen, the lead developer of the Exodus video game as well as past hits like Baldur's Gate 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Based on a free-to-download character sheet and a description of the TTRPG, it appears that the Exodus TTRPG uses the 5E game system, but with updates to make the game sci-fi themed. The Traveler's Handbook comes with four Exodus-themed classes, with two subclasses as well as various weapons and six powerful "Traveler Dynasties" that appear to be in-game factions. Meanwhile, the Exodus Enclyclopedia includes stat blocks for various constructs, Celestials, and human NPCS, as well as new items.

The Exodus video game is set to be released in 2026 and is intended to be a AAA video game available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Step into the dark, dangerous sci-fi world of EXODUS with the ultimate TRPG bundle! This set gives you everything you need to forge unforgettable characters, embark on interstellar missions, and launch epic tabletop adventures across the Centauri Cluster.

Look at the prices. I own the Exodus Traveler's Handbook ($28.55), and it is a chonky one with awesome content. I am absolutely getting the Exodus Encyclopedia ($35.99), which is basically a Monster Manual+.
I'm happy with the price vs page count too, but . . . shipping is $15 for the Encyclopedia. It's basically the full shipping cost, which we're not used to seeing these days . . .

So I can just take the NPCs and run them in my 5e game? I'm always hungry for more aliens and robots for my science fantasy game.
Esper Genesis has a full monster book ?Threats Database?, and Monte Cooke has a good amount sprinkled through their 5e content, but Arcana of the Ancients is a great single-source. I know there are others, but those are off the top o' my head.
OH how could I forget, EN recently released their Voidrunner's Codex, that's A5E but translates fine to 5e.

A shame that there doesn't seem to be any electronic version.
It's WotC after all... And another reason why I'm not buying this, no more room in my book case and space in there is precious!

The videos of Exodus the computer game were interesting, the announcement of a TTRPG was one of those red flags. This release so far ahead of the computer game is another red flag imho. I'll wait for the reviews of the computer game...

Star Wars 5e has a lot of great sci-fi statblocks too. So does Dark Matter from Mage Hand Press, which is I believe is available on D&D Beyond.

I resolved to not buy anything else on DDB for a few reasons, which makes it painful re: Cthulhu by Torchlight, but I shall check those out!
Oh, I'm right there with you. You can get it from MHP durect if you want. I'm not happy with their 5.5 "follow the leader" philosophy (they re-did all their work to conform to 5.5, but thankfully I still have the originals), and I feel they obsess too much over mechanical balance (to the point of targeting as underpowered), but there's a lot of good ideas there.

Dark Matter isn't on D&D Beyond... you're thinking of their Valda's Spire of Secrets release (which is only a fraction of the actual book). I don't know how they convinced the D&D Beyond team to create an all-new class, since the D&D Beyond backend is a nightmare to update from what I've heard, but they've still got another like 10 classes or something to go. LOL
