Wizards of the Coast has released their new sci-fi TTRPG Exodus, which ties into the upcoming video game of the same name. This week, Wizards posted the Traveler's Handbook and the Exodus Encyclopedia for sale on their Exodus webpage. The new RPG was designed by James Ohlen, the lead developer of the Exodus video game as well as past hits like Baldur's Gate 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Based on a free-to-download character sheet and a description of the TTRPG, it appears that the Exodus TTRPG uses the 5E game system, but with updates to make the game sci-fi themed. The Traveler's Handbook comes with four Exodus-themed classes, with two subclasses as well as various weapons and six powerful "Traveler Dynasties" that appear to be in-game factions. Meanwhile, the Exodus Enclyclopedia includes stat blocks for various constructs, Celestials, and human NPCS, as well as new items.

The Exodus video game is set to be released in 2026 and is intended to be a AAA video game available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

It's nice that they are offering those who bought the "early release" version of the Traveler's Handbook, a discount on the Encyclopedia (you can now get them in a a bundle). A shame that there doesn't seem to be any electronic version.
They seem to be a bit confused as to who actually bought the game, though.

I got an email with that offer that assumed I’d bought the first book. I had registered my interest, but when I saw how expensive the book plus international shipping was going to be, I didn’t actually buy it.

And yet the email thanks me for buying the book (and the fine print at the bottom says I received the email because I bought the book) … 🤷🏻

there was fairly consistent references to the Encyclopedia throughout the Traveler's Guide, so they're definitely books that need to be paired together

other news, been looking at my bookshelf and wondering if I could fit another chonker of a book in there...

I replied asking when I'd get the Traveler's Handbook, because I thought I bought it during late-night depression or something.

No, they merely mixed up their email lists. I'm offered to pay full price for both if I'd like.
