Wizards Stealing Weapons

You know, this gives me an idea for a new spell...

Percivilius' Disarming Smile

Evocation
Level: Sor/Wiz 1
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One held object
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Reflex negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

With a charming grin, and a "come hither" call, the character can yank a weapon or any other object from an opponents grasp. The character makes a ranged touch attack against the held object. If successful, the opponent must make a Reflex save or drop the object.

The spell may also be used to tip over an unattended object, or knock it from a shelf, table, ledge, etc... But the object must not weigh more than 5 pounds per caster level.

I actually pulled this stunt off- Never again.

Prior to my last game session I had memorized True Strike without realizing that the range was You. Grey elf wizard 2nd level.

I was out of 1st level spells, taken no damage, I had just taken out the opposing spellcaster, and was closing the distance between myself and the group. (I was 60' away).

A hidden rogue/arcane spellcaster came up behind me and missed (due to mage armor and luck). He was wielding a short sword. I backed up 5ft and cast Truestrike. The party rogue hit the new one with an arrow. The enemy cast Sorrow on the party rogue. I disarmed him on my next turn and took his weapon. I got hit for over half my hp's by the AOO. One of the melee fighter's came to my assistance and hit him good. After that he fled and we chased him down.

Probably the stupidest thing I ever did, but it was so much fun!!!

Hey, Pbartender? Could I bother you for the permissiong to use that spell?

Thanks!

Had I not wanted you to use it, I would not have posted it...

Help yourself...

I'd suggest using this spell in a True Strike/Disarming Smile/Mage Hand combo, especially, if your Wizard is already hasted. At the end of the first round, True Strike, during the next round Disarming Smile, then (assuming you're Hasted) Mage Hand the object to yourself.

Another idea is to ready it against a particular action... Use against another Wizard's wand. Or knock a Healing potion from an enemy's hands.

Thanks, PBARTENDER.

I did not want to be rude.

I like the combos.

I will try to come up with new combos, and post them in the tactics thread when I do.
