The largest official Tiamat miniature ever at nearly 15 inches tall and nearly 30 inches wide, is coming this September from WizKids, according to IGN.

Slated to hit store shelves in September of this year and available for pre-order in the WizKids online shop, the miniature will be priced "under $400" with more details to come, and tower over your player characters, monster miniatures, most of your terrain pieces, and likely some small pets at 28.9 inches (73.4 cm) wide, 14.6 inches (37.1 cm) tall, and 16.8 inches (42.8 cm) long, supported by a 200mm clear round base. This new miniature will be the largest officially licensed, playable representation of the classic Dungeons & Dragons antagonist since her earliest incarnation by D&D co-creator Gary Gygax back in 1975.

My first thought was, dang, $40 to paint that monster of a mini. Now I’m curious if it’s machine painted and then assembled as a person painting that would take forever, in cranking out a bunch of them.

Now, Tiamat and some friends (and foes):
My local gaming store has one on display and its an impressive model. I'm thinking about purchasing the unpainted version, but after painting two Adult White Dragon models I'm not sure I want to tackle Tiamat. Usually for a model that size I'd paint in pieces before final assembly but I'm pretty sure that model comes fully assembled. The white dragon barely fit in my painting booth and there's no way Tiamat will.

And finally, so that was just an avatar of Tiamat! The model in white is a limited run custom Tiamat I purchased probably 10 yrs ago and never finished. I plan to make have modifications to it know and make it truly monstrous!

Did that ginormous thing come with the LaCroix can, or did you have to supply your own?

Once you get that beast painted and based . . . the can needs to become a part of the scenic base you build for T! ;)

My partner supplied the LaCroix - I can't stand the stuff. I'm like Ted Lasso that way!
