Wolf animal companion as a mount?

Horse, Donkey, Riding dog or pony are the only non-exotic steeds in the Kalamar books...

No idea if they have something about it in the core books...
SRD:
RIDE (DEX)
If you attempt to ride a creature that is ill suited as a mount, you take a –5 penalty on your Ride checks.

That's all. I apply this -5 penalty to all mounts except the four mentioned above (paladin mount is an exception).

What about cultures that use other mounts, though? Camels in the desert, elephants in the tropics... worgs for goblins?

I'd suggest the feat Exotic Steed from the KoK PG to them. As for Worg riders... I like to see them fall down.

Have you ever tried to ride a camel ;)? It's common there but not easy.

No penalty for riding, they're slow as hell, but if it's trained for war, I can see a -5 during combat :)
LOL :D

My brother rode one... then the beast smelled something and ran away from the Native who should have led it around... He didn't say anything about slow :D

What is it, some kind of freak elephant? There's not very much they'd run away from...

And yes, they're fast if they run, they just normally plod along, though.
