Believe I read on the site that the first issue comes out in July.

Summer, not necessarily July. It's still a work in progress, so I imagine it depends on how well and how fast it comes together.

Definitely June, July, or August. :)

Actually, there's reason to be optimistic. I have a couple submissions that may fill out the issue without me writing 100% of it. That's a trend I hope to see expand in future issues.

Once the first issue ships, the charter member's special subscription rate will also disappear. The cover price is $20/year, and the standard subscription rate is $15/year.

So how is the membership drive going?

Are subscribers to Kobold Quarterly likely to see an organization write-up for the ASPCM that was mentioned in Castle Shadowcrag?

There will certainly be many tricks and traps in KQ, though perhaps not the ASPCM. Kobolds can take care of themselves.

The drive for subscribers is going ok. I expect the number of folks taking me up on the charter subscription rate will be fairly low, compared to the number who sign up after the 1st issue ships.

It's that trade off between buying into a new, unknown thing and getting a lower rate. Some folks dive in, others are cautious. And that's fine, really. I'm concentrating on making that first issue as great as possible.

I just subscribed to this! It's gonna be freaking awesome!!! Wolfgang is the man with the plan, and I think the only one who has the moxy and talent to step up to the plate and deliver a home run to fill the void after Dragon's demise.

$12 bucks a year!!! That's freaking crazy! That's like one dish at a decent Chinese restaurant. I love Chinese food, but I think an entire year of Wolfgang's genius not to mention a slew of other talented writers articles is worth it!

I can't friggin wait to get my first issue! W00T!
