Wolfgang Baur's Open Design #3 down to Ghouls vs. City-State

How closely related to the old Dungeon adventure about the Kingdom of the Ghouls is the new Empire of the Ghouls adventure? It sounds pretty much like the same setting. Apart from 3.5 stats, what does the new adventure offer over and above the earlier one? I'm a big fan of the White Kingdom and would consider shelling out some cash if it seems worth the while.

The Kingdom was written for 2E, and was short by today's standards. The Empire is not the same setting, but a revision of the concept to 3.5 and expanded with lots of new material: ghoul magic finally gets proper treatment, as do ghoul servitors, the conflicts with aboleths, cave dragons, a ghoul artifact, the city of cloakers, ghoul frenzies, the Black Prince, and Cthulhoid elements.

The Empire will be at least 128 pages, or quadruple the length of the Kingdom. I think you'll find it very worthwhile.

Will there be options for both softcover and hardcover at Lulu.com?

He offered to put up the Castle Shadowcrag up with full color interiors if enough people were interested in paying that cost. I'm sure if enough people expresssed interest in both options he'd set up both options.

Lulu + Empire of the Ghouls = You're getting my money, MK.
Hurray, pimpage powers still working!

Actually, I was very pleased with the way Lulu worked for Castle Shadowcrag. It took a few tries to get the files prepped the way they wanted them, but a high-res, perfect-bound book for reasonable money (=at cost) is a good deal.

Glad you're in.

What is the voting between the 2 options like at the moment. I am interested in The Empire of the Ghouls, but not so interested in the City-State of Zobeck. I'm probably most interested in all of the essays that you have written so far. If I did come on board I would need to become a Patron of the Arts in order to get access to all of the essays you have written to date, correct?

As an aside, you can see cleaned up versions of the essays from the first project here. He's gone in much wider directions with the second project (and so far with the third), but this gives a general taste.
