Wonderfalls - Cancelled

Fox obviously needed more room for shows about marrying midgets, and hooking up straight women with gay men, and other quality programming.

Well that indeed stinks. I picked Wonderfalls over CSI this week, and had no regrets to that decision. Another quality show bites the dust. I heard that they made a full 13 episodes, hopefully they'll air them at some point.

I have to admit, I have no clue what kind of plan Fox has for it's non-reality shows. What I do know is that I will not watch a non-reality show because I believe they will not fully support it. I am weary of being disappointed. It's like a non-stop merry-go-round there with someone pushing off the tv shows at a random point.

Nighthawk, my sentiments are similar to yours. I found Wonderfalls very watchable, only caught a couple of episodes. I probably would not have become a dedicated viewer, but would have watched when I was in the mood to watch a quirky, good show.

But the point is that I now refuse to start watching any new show on Fox. Who wants to become involved in an ongoing story, only to have it yanked out from under you? Fox used to be the inovative, different network, willing to try new things and give them a chance. They brought us the Simpsons and X-Files, among others.

Maybe I just don't understand network television. Are viewers are so mindless that they can no longer watch anything with a plot, and will flock to mindless crap.

Note that I don't mean that as an insult. I watch my share of mindless crap too, but I just can't imagine that it makes the best economic sense to not show the remainder of a series at all. At the least, when they cancel a show like this they could offer the unaired episodes at 3 a.m., and let the viewers who care tape or Tivo them.

I thought it looked stupid, like a rip-off of Amelie, and never bothered to watch it. It looked all "girly" to me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not surprised it flopped.

I want more midget reality shows in the Fox line-up and big fat obnoxious fiances!!! Seriously. I like those shows, but not as much as Joe Schmoe, Fear Factor or Survivor.

I've never seen Amelie so I have no comparison there but Wonderfalls was certainly not girly. It just has a female lead who happens to be cute. And snarky. Don't forget the snarky.

I'll be picking it up when it hits DVD. *sigh*

It was intelligent and original and not at all girly.

It was very intelligent. I loved the Snarky. Her attitute and approach to live was just great.

I'm really getting pissed at Fox for dropping all the good shows like this.
