I was thumbing through the MotP adding templates to animals the other day, and came across the Wood Elemenet Template, and it hit me, where the heck is the Wood Elementals? I mean, there is a wood element, right, they even describe the elemental plane of wood in the appendix, so...

Wood Elementals are plantlike beings from the elemental plane of wood, they resemble hulking brutes composed of plant matter, and on occassion the larger variaties have been mistaken for Shambling Mounds.
Combat:
Wood Elementals are generally indifferent towards other beings, but will attack anyone harming plantlife, unfortunatly this includes the harvesting commoner.
Spikes (Ex): A wood elemental can realease volleys of bark, splinters, or wood shards, up to four such spikes per round, as a standard action. The spikes have a range 120' with no range increment. The Wood Elemental can release up to it's HD in spikes each day.
Entangle (Sp): Anyone hit by the Wood Elementals slam attack, must make a reflex save (DC equal to 10 plus half the Wood Elementals HD) or be affected as though he was caught in an Entangle spell cast by a druid of a level equal to the elementals HD.
Elemental: Immune to poison, sleep, paralysis, and stunning. Not subject to critical hits.
Plant: Although an elemental, the Wood Elemental has many similarities with plants. In addition to the abilities granted by the elemental type, the wood elemental also gains immunity to polymorphing and is not subject to mind-influencing effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns and morale effects.)
Woodsense (Ex): A wood elemental can automatically sense anything in contact with vegitation within 60', even if the wood elemental isn't in contact with the same vegitation.
