Woohoo! I crit with a daily!

Our group warlock critted the 3 out of the first 5 or so times he used Flames of Phlegethos. Damage was in the high-40s to mid-50s, +5 ongoing damage, and always against the really tough stuff that we really needed a crit against (like the white dragon we fought at level 3 with 4 of us).

I don't actually ever remember critting with a daily on my ranger, but then I almost never end up using them(probably average about 1-2 daillies a session, tops). Twin-strike does enough damage on its own most of the time.

Dallies - or at least my ranger ones - are actually kinda meh to me. The ones I have are essentially just improved Twin-strikes that I save and never end up needing to use. When they do get used, it's mostly because someone's low on surges and we decide that it's time to rest soon, so we go nova in what we decide is the last fight of the day.

No crits with dailies yet, but I've had a crit with Chill Strike (? 3rd level encounter) for 2d8+23 (got 30), and on its first outing Resounding Thunder(?) was likewise a crit for 2d8+23 (35).

nb anyone else think that the chargen cards would be more useful if it included the 'crit damage' amount on there too? I always write down the crit damage because it is useful to know, rather than (like so many people) have to stop and do the maths whenever there is a crit!

Ha! Great thread.

Played in a slightly modified Kobold Halls delve at our last FLGS game day and critted with my 1st level fighter's daily (Knee Breaker) using an execution axe against the lead kobold bad guy: 37 hit points total. Apparently, that didn't kill him. I was rather bummed, so I spent my AP, knowing full well what lay in the next room, and critted again(!) with my at-will (Brash Strike). 22 more points of damage and he went down. Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. I promptly retired the d20 as it will only fail me from now on. Karma is like that. . .

The first time my party's ranger critted with a daily, then used an AP to attack again and still didn't drop the skirmisher he was fighting was the exact moment I realised that I would need to lower monster hp for my campaign.

We had our first daily crit last session against a necromancer and his undead minions. The cleric critted the cleric with Cascade of Light, and then used the daily on his Symbol of Battle to to add the d10 extra damage, which was maximized due to the crit. (Which is how the rules work, right? It's not extra crit damage, which means that it gets maximized too, right?)

Ended up being over 40 damage at level 2, and the necromancer folded soon after.

The best crit that I've ever seen in play happened back in March, during the WWDDGD. Our DM's wife was playing the bard and during the first encounter she dominated the dire bear; she directed it to attack one of the surprised troglodytes and it crit'd, almost killing it outright. We were hooting and hollering after that.

My players do it all the time. The cleric's got a power called Prophesy of Doom that lets the next person to hit the target autocrit.

Naturally? Hmmm, don't know if I've seen one. I've hardly played, so haven't had much chance to do it myself.
