Last night, I ran the first game for the Grups (grown ups, for those not familiar with the Star Trek episode "Miri") in nearly a year. I've run less than a half dozen games for my son and his friend over the last 11 months, but none for the Grups.
After suffering severe creative burnout and then a bad wreck and a long recovery, I started my Persian-flavored swashbuckling game last night. Despite an hour long delay from tornado sirens and being a bit rusty running a large party (8 players) everyone seemed to have a really good time and the campaign was off to a good start.
I credit the community here at ENWorld for helping keep me informed, interested, and even intrigued enough to take the helm again as DM after a long absence. If not for my multiple visits to this site each day, I might have drifted away and let the burnout just keep me from jumping back in the saddle.
Thanks, ya'll!
