Wasn't there a Wookiee-like creature in an episode of the old D&D cartoon? I vaguely remember the D&D kids meeting up with the creature and helping him with his spaceship to send him back home.

Points that should be made about Wookies:
1- They're a pacifist race.

are they? sure they aren't a war-like race but I never got the impression they were Pacifist (especially not with all the limb rending that they do)

You've obviously never seen the Star Wars Christmas Special which featured the Empire using Chewie's family as bait in a trap for Luke & company.

Edit: BTW, is that special part of this "Continuity" deal? Does it qualify as Canon? Or does Lucas, like 99% of the rest of the people that saw it, pretend it never happened?

I'd love to read this one. I think a wookie (or whatever you want to call your D&D version), would be interesting. My players normally don't play non-humans, but our current campaign has a reptilian, a giant (from AU), a feline-type humanoid, a half-celestial, and one human. So far the game has been a lot of fun. Someday I hope to have the time to post a story hour about it as well.

Wookies kick ass. I always wanted to incorporate them into D&D, but Star Wars resonates so much with people it might cause belief suspension problems. I’m still glad to see that someone else had the same idea, so I must not be that insane.
