Wooo, Texas Renfest

Heh, I went for my first time today and I must say it was one of the most fun times I have had in my life. If it had not been so hot it would have been even better. I am definitely going to go next year. :)

I can not buy anything online, so do not suggest doing so when I am looking for something.

I can. You can email me and we'll work out details. Basically, you send me a check, I'll purchase the item and gift it to you. No fee.

BTW, what part of Texas? I'm currently reading Einstein's Bridge by John Cramer, and he mentions a Renfaire in the same area as the abortive Superconducting Super Collider project.

We usually have one near D/FW, but I haven't seen any ads for it...

It IS that time of year, though.

That might be the one I'm thinking of. There's a novelist in Einstein's Bridge who has occasion to think of giant ants doing battle with ren fair knights. It's a long story.

The SSC was actually to be done somwhere south of here...nearer to Austin, as I recall.

Given the AWESOME Austin arts community (Michael Moorcock, Jasper Johns, and more beaders than anywhere else in the USA, for example), I'm sure they have a Ren-Faire that is simply astounding.

I adore this Ren Fest. I even used it as the site of the first adventure in my D20 Modern campaign. I politely request that you read the first post, as linked in my sig.

Waxahatchie is about halfway between D/FW and Waco, FYI.

Miles and miles of miles and miles- perfect for renfairs and playing with subatomic particles!
