Another World Cup? We've just had T20I, Women's Rugby Union and Men and Women's Rugby League World Cups! Seriously, all this past month.

I'm surprised by just how little excitement there is about this one. It's always a bit muted here, since Scotland never actually go, but most people do pay at least some attention.

This time out, though, it all just feels like a big distraction from 'real' football - the leagues, the Champions League, etc.

That's because the entire selection process with FIFA is honest, fair and transparent...so I've heard.
