It's not a deal if you scroll down the Amazon listing to read the many horrible reviews for this product, LOL. 60% of a piece of junk is still money ill-spent in my eyes. YMMV.

I purchased the WLD when it first came out at my FLGS for $100.00 and I consider it a deal at that price, $40 is nearly theft.

Agreed! Of the three En World reviews, nothing lower than a 4 and two of them were fives. Even if one wasn't to play this as is, there are tons of rooms one could yank for their own campaign and inspiration. At $40, sounds like a good deal to me!

Well, staff reviewers grant 4 or 5 stars on a very consistent basis. I mind the details of the review more than the rating. Note some of the WLD's "helpful" advice on how to run a dungeon--like banning druids! And telling DM's not to allow players to take 10 or 20 on checks. I'm worried that this bad advice indicates a poor understanding of 3e rules. Also, I'm concerned the dungeon may just be one monster-filled room after another. I like trap rooms, puzzle rooms, and the occasional weird-for-the-sake-of-weird room.

And don't forget the 16 poster sized maps that come with the book.

Sigh. I love maps!
