[Jason]
[sblock=Jason]Just as an addendum to your post... "Paying as much attention not to be killed"?
There is a difference of about 6-700 meters of open water between you and the opposite bridge, and while they let out relitively close to each other, 300 meters or so, It simply looks like a bunch of people panicing and running away from a fire. Not really life threatening =P
That said, if you're sprinting, I'd like an endurance check =) Stamina + Athletics.[/sblock]
With only a moment's waiting and watching, Jason sprinted off, working his way down the somewhat sloped bridge as quickly as he could. The occational glance would be flashed to the far bridge, though with the shoddy construction of his own and the darkness of his own, they were little more than brief flashes, the sight of people occationally highlighted by headlights.
More were the sound, screams, paniced honkings of horns. And then the night spit, a tremendous crash echoing out over the river, the collapse of a building, the screeching of tires. More screams as Jason reached the lower end of the bridge, Three blocks now from his home.
[Mike]
[sblock=Mike]Likewise to Jason's post, I'll bring up quickly that the fire is really zero danger to you. Between your apartment and it is a river, and fire doesn't really travel across bridges. I'm gonna leave out any responce for the time being. If you'd like to edit your post I'll be checking back periodically. If you'd like to keep it, Just post as much in the ooc thread =)[/sblock]
[Darwin]
Three numbers were dialed to the phone, a short pause, a single ring, then a click as the line connected.
"Nine One One, What is your emergancy?"
He'd barely spoken two words out of his mouth before the opperator halted him with quick, suscinct words.
"Sir, Sir! At this time the Riot on Broadway is our top priority. For your own protection please lock all your doors and windows. If possible find a windowless room and lock yourself in. The situation will be resolved as quickly as possible. Do you understand?"
[Ethan]
The view from his peep hole was essentially useless, but being that close, he was close enough to recognize a noise from below. It was a soft cry, a feminine moan, but not nearly something arousing. Soon enough it was joined by another, then a pair of three more, that glass crackling beneath feet.
Turning around to check the window, he'd spot something far more interesting, a single line running muted along the bottom of his screen. A public service announcement warning him to avoid Broadway Ave, giving news 650 as a source for updated news.
[sblock=ethan]Alright, first off you've got two perception checks one to notice the tv. Which you managed with
Two successes
The second, notices the moaning from the first floor entrance. With
Four Success I gave you which door it was specifically. =)[/sblock]
[Arell]
Channel flipping paid off for you in spades. Flipping through channels you'd go through the usual, the comedy, the teletoon. A brief flip to an episode of simpsons on global would find news instead, but a recognizable local picture would stop your thumbs.
The image was Broadway Ave. The theater there on fire, a car burst through its door on its side, evidently the start of the issue. The reporter was rambling on, a riot occuring, apparently started by a brawl outside Lydia's nightclub, it had erupted into full scale violence for unknown reasons.
At least two officers were down, and the fire was spreading as fire crews were as of yet unable to reach the source of the blaze.

One success on a perception check. Good enough to catch the news =)[/sblock]
[Jim & Adam]
"Shoppers." Came Adam's simple reply. A former night shift employee at 7-11, he always chose his new employer, if given a choice. Half of the reasoning was his staff discount, the other, his unease going back to a store in which he had quit without notice.
The two walked for another two minutes, a wave cast to the security guard as they entered the brightly lit shoppers drug mart. The guard in question was a rather strange woman, perhaps 100lbs from looking at her, she was a recovering addict, her frame looking as though she could be broken in half with one hand, and, indeed unarmed that was entirely true.
While Jim made his way into the store, Adam stopped briefly, caught aback by words snipped from the guards phone conversation, something about damage to the broadway store, and a riot. Curious, he'd join her, the woman covering the mouthpiece to chat.
"Thank god. Can you explain to those..." she paused, glancing around to be certain before speaking "damn asians that they need to call your manager and get him to shut down the store?"
"Err... why?" Was Adam's quick responce. He knew the two she was talking about. The head office had determined that hiring thier night staff as foreign workers would allow them to hire more english speaking candidates during the day, while keeping their 'equal oppertunity' policies. Unfortunately this had the direct result of litterally half the night crew being impossible to understand.
"My boss is on his way down to the hospital from broadway shoppers. Turns out there is a big riot of people, smashed up the store something fierce, beat the hell out of the staff and roughed up our guard. Police are on their way, but he says that there is a pretty big crowd of rioters headed down 8th street." Came her reply, seeming a bit shaken. She jumped as noise erupted from the covered reciever, a scream, a loud shriek of noise, before the line went dead.

Flipping on the TV, you'd get roughly the same information as Arell.
[sblock=Derek]Yup, you can know and call darwin =)
You made your perception check in regards to tv. As evidenced
Here. Sorry for the short post on your part but its pretty much a rehash hehe.
Also, just as a side note, you live about.. I'll say 3 blocks from Darwin.[/sblock]
