World's Largest Dungeon

Our group pitched in a bit each and picked up the world's largest dungeon. Have any of you ran or played any of it, and is it as good as I've heard?

We are actually thinking of paying someone 10 bucks a week to DM it for us so we can all get a chance to play.... Is that a bad thing? lol

I am about to start my campaign set in Blackmoor where the players will be heading to explore the World's Largest Dungeon (March 6).

There is such a wealth of info in the book that I would say it is a great product.

As far as players enjoying it that will be more a nature of the players.

We have many players who like dungeon crawls so I think it will work out well for us.

If your players don't like that style then they will probably hate it even though it is a great product.

I have also found that the common format and the level of detail provided will make the book easy to run, and there are enough OH WOW's that your players will have to be on their toes.

There is another great thread on this forum called "World's Largest Dungeon In Actual Play" or something like that which should help you out.

There are a few issues with the book liek the lack of creature variation in the first section, but nothing that isn't easy to fix with a minimum of work.

However, if you're paying someone $10 a week, be prepared to spend around $1000 (as in 100 weeks). This thing is a *monster*, and will take quite some time to complete if you intend to go all the way from beginning to end.

We have been having a riot in it so far. We started at 1st level and are only 2nd level now (so it's still pretty new for us) but we do hope to make it through to the end. I think it works best as a light-hearted game.
