With Blizzard, you can never be certain. I'm hoping the Beta will be out by mid-March, though.

Eventually, it sounds like WoW will have an open beta where anybody can play so that they can stress-test the servers. So even if you don't make it into the first testing phase, sooner or later you will get to try out the beta.

Sorry folks, but no beta this week. I hate to give such bad news but didn't want yas all sitting around hoping either ... y'all go out and enjoy the day!

Beta is coming soon though ... very very soon.

Now, Blizzard's definition of "soon" could mean any time between now and the next ice age. Still, it's possible that the Beta test could be beginning next week.

From what I understand, there will be no NDA at any stage of the beta. So once beta begins, the beta testers can tell the non-beta folk everything about the game.

Multiple World of Warcraft fan sites are reporting that the World of Warcraft beta test will be released on Monday, March 15. This date has been reported by several independent sources. Apparantly, March 15 was the date that Blizzard had planned upon for the beginning of the World of Warcraft beta test. This date has yet to be confirmed by Blizzard, save for the message stating that the beta test will begin "very, very soon."

As soon as Blizzard makes an official announcement, I'll post the details.

Another thing to note is that this is likely to be the first of a few waves of beta testers, so if for some reason you don't get in now, there's always a chance that you may get added later, especially once they get close to doing some stress tests, and probably when they add in the Night Elves.

Well, it's Monday the 15th, and it's been confirmed by Blizzard that the beta will not begin today.

However, the Blizzard representive who confirmed it wouldn't be starting today also said that the "very, very soon" statement still applies. Additionally, it has been reported that the official World of Warcraft Alpha Forums have been shut down, meaning that the Alpha testing phase has wrapped up.

I will keep you guys posted as more news emerges. Don't be surprised if Blizzard sends out the beta tester emails sometime within the next few days.
