Worlds of Warcraft Beta Announced

It's Tuesday the 16th, and a Blizzard representitive posted another update. The WoW beta test emails will not be sent out today either.

It'll happen soon, though. In the meantime, you can study the sites that CrusaderX linked to.

But while I'm waiting, I'm reading this Alpha Report which makes the game sound really really great.

I'm hoping that it's just delayed, but I'll probably have to wait for the next phase. Hope I get in.

If you signed up for the Beta and didn't recieved an email, don't despair: The emails are being sent out in batches, and it might take as long as two days for your email to arrive.

And even if you don't make it into this phase, Blizzard will be opening up more beta slots when each new phase of the beta starts.

Sounds right. Most betas work just like that. Keep adding people in slowly. The game code stabilizes and the servers are able to handle more. The testers are there to break the servers. Yay, breakers.

Well, I didn't get an e-mail yesterday, and I won't be around the next few days to check again. Anticipation of seeing my girlfriend kind of wins out over a beta test...

So far, out of two guilds and all of my gaming friends, I don't know anyone that's actually gotten in, so, don't despair yet.

You've still got about a day and a half until you should despair.

I'm not worried, at all. I'd like to get in, but I can wait - I'm good at that. I just hope someone around here gets in so we can get a first-person progress report.

Besides, if I make it that means I'll want to go out and blow $200 on a new video card...
