Hmm... The slavery angle with larger population is reminiscent of slavery in the USA. While not as extreme, there was a larger population of slaves compared to non-slaves.

Sorry, this is just not true. Slaves were not a majority in the US, ever, except on a VERY local level. There have been societies where slaves were in the majority (the Caribbean is the closest example), but the US was never one of them.

Not a value judgment, just pointing out an historical error.
