Worst Movie ever (...according to rottentomatoes)

Let me put it this way, it is about two rogue Canadian Secret Agents, one of whom is Chinese the other of whom is Mexican. I own a copy that was given to me for free. I'm saving it for a "Bad Movie Night" with my buddies, with our running MST3000-type sarcastic remarks it might actually be fun to watch.

Canadian secret agents?

What exactly does a Canadian Double Knot Spy do??

Covertly build national infrastructure in the third world?

Spy on American companies and expose lobbying Payola?

I'd be FASCINATED to know about the secret career I missed out on when I turned CSIS down...

Near as I could tell from this movie, they try to kill other Canadian secret agents (as well as any Canadian cops and soldiers who get in the way). The original script had them as Americans working for the Defense Intelligence Agency and FBI, but they filmed the movie in Vancouver Canada to save money so decided to be econimical and made everything Canadian (although some DIA and FBI references also find their way into the film, they changed parts of the script but didn't bother changing others)- Antonio Bandaras's Spanish accent just made that even more absurd.

Of those, I've seen:

Catwoman
Elektra
Darkness Falls
A Sound of Thunder
Venom
Ultraviolet
Bloodrayne
House of the Dead
The Covenant
Battlefield Earth
Zoom
Alone in the Dark

I liked Elektra; it wasn't a great movie but it wasn't total crap. I liked Venom, which actually has probably the most unexpected act of self-sacrifice I've seen in a film.

Sigh. Catwoman and The Covenant are those special bad films where you can see a good movie trying to fight it's way free. Catwoman convinced me that Hally Berry could act, actually, in the scenes at the beginning where she's just Selina Kyle? Funny stuff. You could have made a nice little comedy/adventure out of the basic premise and just ditched any tie to the DC character. The Covenant... my, it had such potential, drowned in trying to be a Lost Boys re-imagining. Darkness Falls was like that, as well; a nice premise where they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory over and over again.

Battlefield Earth: not as bad as some think. Bloodrayne was actually watchable in several places. Not a good movie, but certainly no Alone in the Dark.

The others? Dear God, if only my memory could be expunged of them. Alone in the Dark stands out as so terrible... Sound of Thunder is just sloppy and dead-looking, Zoom was amazingly boring and cliche-ridden.

I liked Electra, but I must add, I saw the movie with my teenage daughter martial artist and one of the main characters in the movie is a teenage girl martial artist, so those parts went over well.

If you think Highlander II is bad, check out Vampires vs. Zombies.

I've never seen anything worse than that. And I watched the whole thing. Twice.

Twice eh? Did you watch the entire thing or only the gratuitous naked bits?
In any case I'd have to agree with that. If I fed a bunch of film to my dog I could pick a better movie off the lawn the next day.

Speaking of bad movies, anyone else visit this site ever? I found one of my now all-time favorite movies (Six String Samurai) here.
