One of the big things, for me, is seeing you guys popping in here at ENWorld.
And since it seems that that's pretty common now...I have nothing else to contribute!

First, I'm sorry if this has been talked about already but:
I know quite a few people that had the impression from a press release earlier in the year that D&D V3.5 had a publishing schudule through 2009 and that 4e was " a long way off". Now many of them are very upset that WotC is not keeping to that schedule.
I think the actual quote was vague and said something like "We have lots of good stuff planned through 2009" this was the answer to the " when is 4e coming?" question. I suggest when a question that is important as this should be anwsered more clearly. IMO, I didn't think that quote said anything about 3e being published through 2009, just that there was lots of "good stuff" planned through 2009. However, a whole lot of people took that as "D&D 3e is going to be published though 2009".

Of myself making a face right after Wulf Ratbane kicked me in the manly danglers.I've enjoyed the video interviews and the stream of info about 4E. As a former WOTC customer (bailed out eventually and went back to the old school stuff) it has been exciting to learn some of what is in store for 4E. I don't know if I'll like it yet, but I've found all of the indications so far to be quite positive.
You know, I don't know if it's possible to do this, but it might be cool to have a "Pre-4E FAQ" for some of the big questions that have people worried. Like "Will all Fighters now have magical abilities like in Bo9S?" or "Will I need a laptop to play D&D now?" It seems like that could be a potential "PR coup".

Hi Mike!
I too think the blog and video interviews were really great to clear things up a bit after the presentation. VERY nice job, man!
Now, I think the presentation had a big flaw, in the form of the "4 pillars for 4th edition", particularly this schematic showing the four elements with arrows forming a circle between them.
The message has been interpreted -wrongly- by many people as meaning that the D.I. is in fact a mandatory part of the 4E experience. You would "have" to shell out your cash to get DDI and be able to use 4E properly.
It just went awry afterwards with people saying they don't want to have to use a laptop at the game table, they don't want a MMO, et cetera.
I think we're going in the right direction, communication wise, but there needs to be a clear (repeated) stance on the issue that the DDI is not needed for 4E. That's what's pulling off a LOT of people out there. Further, lots of things, like the ability for a user to KEEP (dowload) all content owned by subscription after the subscription is canceled must be clearly stated, ASAP.

On playtesting
1. Will the playtest be a total system playtest, or "here, try this spell"
2. Are there anythings that might actually be squashed by negative feedback. Is everything on the table? Like people decide that 25 spell levels is too wierd, and you have to go back to the old way.
2.5 Playtests kept monk and paladins as classes you couldn't freely multiclass because it "felt wrong". Can that be an issue again?
3. Is there really time to playtest and not introduce unforeseen consequences?
