WotC Cuts and Ryan Dancey Its over!

They cut the most visionary person completely out. I can't believe it. Why didn't they just let Ryan Dancey's contract run out. ANd Cutting SKR, dumb, very dumb.

Never cut loose you brain trust folks. Bad business.

This is sad, sad news.

There is one great hope remaining among all of this: Anthony Valterra. I don't know that he's the visionary or innovator or the smooth operator (in a good way :)) that Ryan was, but I do know that from all evidence he is a heck of a guy and wants D&D to succeed.

Agree with Eric. AV seems like a smart guy in a difficult spot that cares about the game. I ceratinly hope that he manages to keep things sane. I smell PHBs about this whole mess.

I think I know what's bothered me most in all this - the thing that has been nagging at my mind.

No press release.

At least, I haven't seen any sign of one. WotC knew they were letting relatively large numbers of people go, some of them big names. They know that a great many of their customers are internet-savvy, and would quickly get the news. Do they somehow think we'd be unconcerned? That there's nothing about teh whole mess that we'd like to know?

Why on Earth did they not have a press release ready and waiting to meet our concerns? Yes, they have a right of privacy, to do buisiness as they see fit, and it's legal for them to sit behind the NDAs and not say anything. It being legal doesn't mean it's adviseable, or even reasonable.

Hmmm... don't see anything on :):):):)edCompany about this yet.

Anyone with access to the subscription forums there want to tell me otherwise?

Regards,
Corporate Dog

Wizards of the Coast makes their corporate decisions because they, ultimately, want to make their customers happy. You are happy, aren't you? Only commies and mutants aren't happy with corporate decisions. You support Wizards, don't you?

Would citizens Sean-R-NLDS an Ryan-DNCY please report for reactor shielding duty in FAR sector?

How do you read anything on gaming reports?

I've just spent 10 minutes clicking around in circles and it just keeps going back and forth between a 1 paragraph summary, a list of topics, and the home page...

Anyone got a direct link?

I certainly reported the F to F'ed company, and made it all of my 5 picks for the week, but still nothing.

I would think they would have a field day with a Hasbro layoff.
