Wotc Forum vs Enworld Forum

For the most part I don't see all that many "noob" threads on this site. The WotC site is crawling with them, and I generally stay out of those.
Yeah, I think that makes some difference too. I guess the general WotC boards tends to be frequented by newer players, while ENWorld tends to have people who are more experienced.

Plus the WotC boards focus mostly on D&D or other WotC d20 games. Anything d20 is open for discussion here, so that makes for a more diverse audience.

I stay away from WOTC boards because they are rude, not everyone, but too many of them, plus i had a thread shut down because I was "selling/promoting" a web site because I was letting fellow gamers know about a good on line sale (stiggybaby having stuff 50% or more off). I don't have a need to visit a site like that. I'll stick with ENWorld and Necromancers boards.
Hey, it's their board's policy. At least this place is more welcome about non-WotC d20/OGL products, despite the Morrus Rant.

They have a right to set up their own ground rules for their board as much as this board have about political and religious discussions.

I still provide information there, but I assume they're smart enough to use the information to find it on the internet (i.e., Google). If they're not smart enough to use the information, then that's not my problem.

For what it’s worth the "noob/new" player (and yes there are many appearing on WOTC boards) is one of WOTC goals. They already have the purchasing dollars of die-hard and other players. The noob players that keep popping up on many of their boards shows that WOTC is successful in expanding and gaining new customers. Go to their D&D General boards and you will see on any given day see posts by new players asking for guidance in starting and playing D&D. How often do you see that here? This place is a dedicated fan site primarily for experienced players, while WOTC boards’ are a customer relations and marketing tool.
WOTC's D&D Miniatures board IMO is an extremely successful "marketing - customer relations – fan board" combinations, thanks to the contributions of WOTC employees.

Not really. There is a forum for d20 discussions, divided up by sub-forums (Anime, Fantasy, Grin, Historical, Horror, Sci-Fi, Videogame).

This site is probably one of the best rpg forums i've come across. Most people here are friendly and really want to help other players. And trust me, I am a new 3.0/3.5 player, though I have played D&D before (in my teens;)). So, this site is geared to both 'new' players and experienced ones.
Heck, I still have trouble figuring out fort/will/reflex saves..... :)

I just noticed yesterday that the new boards at WotC have an option to limit how many lines of sigs to display. You can even turn them off if you want.

I'll also point out that it's really pointless if anyone wanted to insult or put down posters to other message boards, because a LOT of cross-pollination goes on. I post regularly to the WotC Eberron forums, and before that, to the Psionics forum, and before that, to the Future releases and D&D general forums. WotC forum denizens are also Monte Cook Denizens, and ENWorld Denizens, and Dragonsfoot denizens, etc.

EnWorld is great

I love ENWorld simply because I prefer third party d20 supplements rather than Wizards of the Coast. On Wizards.community (understandably) any third party product is lambasted as 'broken', 'unedited', or 'just bad'.
