WoTC Gelatinous Cube Mini - Empty or not?

I'd like to see a hollow Cube, but it needs to have the goopy slightly deformed looking walls. Besides, a solid GCube would encourage cherrypicking to no end, since its booster would be significantly heavier than any other.

Just did a search on Gelatinous Cube Miniature. Found that article rgard mentioned (it is by Sean K. Reynolds), and found a whole bunch of really cool looking Gelatinous Cube minis out there, along with several descriptions of how to make them. I see what Wizards is saying about it being a bit too difficult to incorporate into their current process of making minis (and not cost effective), but if anyone's looking for GC minis, there's certainly a bunch out there available.

A clear cube can work. They can loosely put it on a grooved base so you can take it off and put it back on. In fact, a square base works best there. The thing is supposed to fill out the whold 4 squares!

A real cube - with dissolved stuff in there and all that - might be unique enough to warrant a special edition, one time only, single figure deal. An Icon that is large rather than gargantuan or colossal. That way, they can charge what they need to for it, and don't have to worry about cherry picking and expensive minis and all that.

It really depends on how much that thing would cost.
