WotC GenCon Announcement: A New Campaign Setting?

Well, RPG Objects does have a Future campaign setting called Prometheus. Doesn't that fit one of your requests?

Ahem.

Blood & Relics, by RPGObjects, covers your d20 Modern setting. It is most certainly distinct enough from Urban Arcana. It's more akin to a supernaturalized DaVinci Code or a take off from The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail. It's easily my favourite Modern setting.

Also, Blood & Space 2: Prometheus Rising, also by RPGObjects, or Dawining Star: Operation Quick Launch, from Blue Devil Games, are two solid Future campaign settings.

So, both your requests were specific enough to point to products already released. I suggest you check these fine products out.

Maybe they're ressurecting some of their old Alternity settings for use with d20 Modern/Future?

Hmm. That would be kinda cool, especially if they also brought back some of the Amazing Engine settings - which they did with Bughunters to a limited extent in d20 Future, for example. The thing is, I wish they'd do it like they did with Amazing Engine, and as Steve Jackson does with GURPS, and release them as relatively inexpensive softcovers. If any of them prove especially popular, they could supprot them further; if not, at least we'd have a variety to choose from, which I feel is one of the strengths of GURPS - there's a sourcebook for just about anything in that game. I doubt WotC'll do it, but I'd like it.

Dammit. And here I promised myself I wouldn't get into another CCG. :)

I know how you feel. As a recoveirng MtG addict, I shouldn't have read any of the preview info from the GAMA show.

You know, you should really look outside of WotC for these things. Blue Devil Games and RPGObjects have both requests covered.
Hey, thanks for the props!

As for my 2cp, I'm quite confident that it is not a setting for Modern/Future/Past, only because this was specifically addressed by WotC at their GTS seminar. (Which means that Dawning Star remains the only full-scale campaign setting built on d20 Modern and powered by d20 Future. )

I think Varianor (Hi, Bill!) has the most likely suggestion, followed by a one-shot ala Ghostwalk as others have mentioned. Of course, we are forgetting the possibility that the first poster is, in some fashion, mistaken (or, more accurately, his friend is).

And I will check them out. And I'd also check out Future and/or Modern settings made by WotC. That was my whole point, the more choices out there the better.

Just a quick note: I checked out all three settings.

Blood and Relics looks interesting, might pick that one up whenever I get around to getting the Haven pdf.

Blood and Space 2 didn't look that appealing to me with all the times the term gritty was used, but I'll probably do some more research on it to find out what other people thought about it in more detial.

Dawning Star on the other hand really grabbed my attention and I'll be picking that one up as soon as I can scrounge up some cash.

So thanks for the suggestions.

I rather suspect it's a new RPGA setting. Isn't Green Regent reaching the end of its two-year span?

Yes, but they just launched Mark of Heroes, set in Eberron. If RPGA does any new campaigns, they'll likely be set in existing WotC settings. I suppose it's *possible* that they'd launch a new campaign in FR to replace LGR...but even that would technically be a RPGA announcement, not a WotC announcement per se.

The new campaign was Mark of Heros (Eberron) which started at Winter Fantasy in January.
