WoTC March 2009 Editorial Calendar

The Codex of Betrayal series is a counterpart to the Demonomicon series, only covering high-ranking devils instead of powerful demons. The first one came out in an early Fourth Edition issue of Dragon and covered Beleth, Prince of Imps.
Yeah I had forgotten what the article was when typing that. *Glares at memory*

Hmpf, yet another Martial Power supplement? I think, I'll pass.
I'm perfectly happy to buy one of these for each power source; but multiples? Meh.

Yeah, I know I don't have to buy it, but still: aren't there any better ideas for new supplements?

Complete Arcane II perhaps? :p

I'll wait and see. Of course there are more exciting products, that promise more innovation.

Innovation always comes later in the publishing cycle of each edition (near the middle to end, with end being tryouts for the next edition). It was so in AD&D and in 3E as well. And I can see a desire to cover all the archetypes first, and some of the martial ones are still not readily doable (you can reflavor and houserule, but that is not the point).

We know there's definitely going to be Arcane Power 2, since the Artificer was not included in Arcane Power, but the Swordmage is. So in order to have supplementary material on the Artificer there will have to be Arcane Power 2.

They can publish all the books they want, I just think their resources would be better spent on finishing up the classes and options we're missing instead of giving us multiple splat books on the classes we already have.

I know "everything is core" for 4E, but I think something like the Artificer would be better served with DDI articles.

I guess there's no real solution since they have to publish something, but I thought the DDI was supposed to alleviate the need to publish a new hardback every month.

But hey, splat away!

p.s.: 2 1/2 years into the edition, its going to be awful unfriendly to the newbie who's confronted once again with so many books that they'll feel they have to buy to play. Especially since "everything is core".
