But in this case, you can pay $8 and pretend to be a hardcore player.
So, @Morrus has to make a bunch of $8 buttons with the EN World logo, with "Hardcore" under the name. It is even blue, like a checkmark.

Unlike the original example, this would actually be something with inherent value, namely an actual physical button...So, @Morrus has to make a bunch of $8 buttons with the EN World logo, with "Hardcore" under the name. It is even blue, like a checkmark.

What do you mean by hardcore? As in hard mode or you play the game a lot?I mean, we joke about the whole casual/hardcore/gatekeeping topic, but is there even a 'hardcore' scene for 5e?? I really just cannot see it, certainly not out of the box.
Does it need to be out of the box? It's a decent system that seems to work well enough for a lot of people. Hardcore D&D players have always been a niche in a niche hobby in my experience. If they didn't allow 3PP to modify and tweak to satisfy those niches, I can see why it would be a bigger issue.I mean, we joke about the whole casual/hardcore/gatekeeping topic, but is there even a 'hardcore' scene for 5e??
