Wotc: "Planetouched are proficient with all martial weapons"

Not sure I want to consider a toddler (aasimar, or not) being proficient in simple and martial weapons.

Kids are dangerous enough as it is! :D :p

So, moving back to seriousness, do Monks gain proficiency with all martial weapons at level 20?

What about clerics who have taken 5 levels in Divine Disciple?

The monk is only 'treated' as an outsider for the purposes of spells and magical effects. I don't think the type changes to outsider with all that it entails. So my guess would be that it doesn't gain the proficiencies.

Q: Do Aasimars and Tieflings (having the outsider type but no racial HD) gain proficiency with all martial weapons?

A: Yes, based on the traits listed for outsiders in the Monster Manual (page 313), they most certainly would be proficient in all simple and martial weapons.

/ignored :p

To me this is a trait, which comes with racial HD only. In the same light, humanoids with racial HD (if there is such a thing) will receive simple weapons training, even if they have class levels.

The monk entry does say that, but the Divine Disciple states :The divine disciple sheds her mortal form and becomes an outsider with the native subtype. There's also the Contemplative (Complete Divine) that turns the character into an outsider (at levl 10)
