WotC Product Line beyond April 2005

First Post
I've been thinking lately it's about time we got some more information on WotC's product line beyond April 2005.

In general, we should expect the following:

  • Another 'Environmental' series book following up Sandstorm and Frostburn
  • More Eberron support--Perhaps a magic sourcebook (I don't have MMIII, but doesn't it sort of already cover the 'Monsters of Eberron' niche?). Also more for the Eberron adventure path.
  • The rumored FR Waterdeep/Undermountain book (?)
  • Perhaps another monster sourcebook along the lines of Liber Mortis or Codex Anathema
  • D20 Past
  • Continued miniatures support obviously
  • I don't follow Star Wars RPG, but will there be releases to conincide with Episode three next May?

Anything else we should be expecting? Anyone have hard info on any of the above?

Also, is there any chance WotC will be releasing support for d20 Future?

I believe there's a "Races of Eberron" coming sometime.

All of your speculations sounds about right with what I've heard. Star Wars isn't getting any support(beyond the minis) until Ep III it seems, but there's evidence that that won't be the end of it, as its been mentioned by a few of the designers that they ARE working on mulitple books.

...I still want my Koboldomicon! ;)

And I'd doubt there's going to be support for d20 Future, but maybe there'll be a campaign setting released as a hardcover if something has enough meat to pull it off...

AFAIK, "Grasp of the Emerald Claw" is the last of those adventures, but we may well see other Eberron adventures - and other non-Eberron adventures as well!

Miniatures support:
March: Deathknell
June(?): Angelfire(?)
October/December?: Set 8.

None of them have huge miniatures, but Brian "Kiddoc" Mackey's miniature he got to design for winning the 2004 DDM Championship will be in Set 8 (which is likely to be another starter set).

Yes, the next revision of the Core Rulebook is likely to be released then (it's unlikely to be as drastic as the previous revision, but will include Episode III art and character descriptions).

Cheers!

Th Forgotten Realms seminar at GenCon 2004 had the designers say they were going to be releasing FR adventures again...something I still have trouble believing. But that means they may be out next year.

Ah, makes some sense. What level will GotEC take characters up to?

I'd expect about 8th or 9th.

The Forgotten Forge - 1st level characters reach 2nd level.
Shadows of the Last War - 2nd level characters reach 4th level
Whisper of the Vampire's Blade - 4th level characters reach 6th level
Grasp of the Emerald Claw - 6th level characters reach 8th level

I'm guessing at how much the PCs advance in WotVB and GotEC, but I think it's pretty close. 9th level may be closer to how the PCs end up, and at the outside, 10th level. :)

I ran the first half of the Forgotten Forge last Sunday - My players and I really enjoyed it. We've got a Changeling Rogue, a Warforged Fighter and a Elf Artificer, with two more PCs to join in next session. Between them, they ended up with 700 XP each, so will definitely level before SotLW.

Cheers!

The Waterdeep book is confirmed (it doesn't cover Undermountain as well) -- Eric Boyd is involved. Rich Baker has posted hints about what'll be in the third Realms book for the year.

People have speculated about this, and it's possible, but the facts are that a trade magazine reported the line was stopping, Sue Rostoni confirmed it on the starwars.com messageboards, and the SWRPG is not on the big list of Episode III licenses put up on starwars.com.

I seem to remember comments by WotC employees that they were working on SWd20 books. Now, this could be just more of the Ultimate Missions line of things to go with the minis, but somehow I'd doubt it. It seems like its a lot of speculation on both sides of the court with this one...
