Still, I'll buy all those new WotC products... If they're smart, they'll make Fiend Folio a book filled with the Dukes of Hell, the Demon Lords, and other high level fiends.

Yes.

Between BoVD, MMII, and Necromancer's ToH, I'm not sure what else there will be to cull from 1e/2e?

I suppose there are always more beasties out there, but one does have to wonder about the originality quotient. Maybe Fiend Folio will be WotC's attempt at a monster book of fan submissions, similar to the FSS (but with more "winners")?

The only thing I think they should do wit hmonsters is a book on Mythilogical monsters that are actually true to the myths.

More high dollar hardcovers that are basically useless for me.....

No softcovers? NO adventures? No "Book of Challenges" type materials?

I suspect even the RoF Faerun book will be filled with rules-crunch, and little fluff..

Boring....I can get stats from any other D20 company for less money...

Sorry folks...I know some of you just love all-crunch and stats, monsters, but for my games it's pretty much useless...and the very small percentage of stuff I would use hardly offsets the price....

I'd love to support the company that makes D&D if they would give me the support I need... I had such high hopes when WOTC was pumping out some great stuff I could actually use in the last days of 2E...

And yes I know that's what D20 is for...but the trend in D20 is the same...lot's of crunchy rulebooks....

It's not that I do't like monster books I do. but what's with all of the monster books in so short of a span of time?

Monster manual II in sept, Book of vile darkness(fiendlords) in oct,
Tome of Horrors(necro games with WoTC permission) in nov, savage species(Monsters as PC's)in Jan and now Fiend Folio in Apr what up with that?

I just hope that Fiend Folio will have the rest of the Fiend lords and a lot of cool original creatures maybe even some Celestial lords.

No. What's coming from the Book of Vile Darkness is information in the Lords of the Nine (Arch-Devils) and Demon Princes (and maybe a few Lords if they include the likes of Yeenoghu or Baphomet). The Dukes of Hell, like Bael and Huitijin will not be in BoVD (although they will be in Creature Catalog's Tome of Horrors). There are many more Dukes of Hell and Demon Lords than those in the any books distributed thus far, so I suppose they could be in Fiend Folio.

Rules Bloat..

Oh the Rules bloat is starting to show.

I've never been a big fan of Race books. Doubt if I'll pick that one up.

I guess the Monster stuff is always a strong seller...

Well Serge I guess that's the difference between you and me. I liked Minions okay but not to the extent you probably do. Though I think Oathbound has a GREAT premise. Nice mix of Planescape, Ravenloft and Dark Sun. That said, I guess I'm slightly curious what Fiend Folio will add? Perhaps some missing fiends? Or maybe something else?

Fiend Folio eh? Hmmm... I guess we can expect to see Unearthed Arcana, Wilderness Survival and Dungeoneer Survival soon too.
