WotC Product Schedule Update - 2003

Well as the resident d20 man, the only thing I'm likely to get is the arms and Equipment guide and the Fiend Folio (never enough fiends in my book! :) ) The rest I may get later but definately don't need. I've already saving up for other stuff, so I'm not sure I need much more from WotC other than one or two books here and there. Though Races of Faerun might get some play IF my players want to know how to run Faerunian type characters.

Hmm, didn't everyone complain about all the stuff that was available in 2e that was basically TOO MUCH. Yet the same thing is happening now with 3e and all the complainers are now quiet.

Personally i never minded all the 2e stuff that was out. My group bought most of it anyway. But if i am going to fork out the money AGAIN, i would prefer it if they could at least put blurbs in so that the people who bought all these books could at least have them already intergrated in adventures and such.

Maybe at least a web addon. If i buy these books and the PC's use em, i also would like my villains and monsters using them. And no, i don't want to do it myself. That is why i buy it. It is a lot easier making generic fighters or sorcerors or mages than making the prestige classes that would fit prefectly in the adventure intended.

Yes sorry, this is mainly for the adventures. I doubt i am in the only group that buys pretty much everything wotc puts out.

Actually the complaint was the volume per month. in 2e days it wasn't uncommon to have 3 to 5 items per month and we are talking major items

Of course that was split between several different products. and the issue was quantity over quality.

I had been under the impression that Feind Folio was supposed to be more like the "old" Fiend Folio.... filled with weirdness and coolness. I do like Wyatt though. Demons? Devils? I just don't use them enough. As it stands Legions and Army (From green Ronin) kinda showed me that cool ideas aside I -just- don't have demons around that often.

Honestly WotC hasn't really been behind the ball on the creative side of 3e. Re-writing monsters is nice but there's been a serious dirth of new ideas.
(edit: on the monster/creature front. there's been a lot of innovation elsewhere. it makes this more noticable.)
Conveniently S&S has stepped up to the plate nicely (I know someone was bagging the CCs. Its a mater of taste but I use both a lot. The monsters are varied theres a bunch of stuff that's not really for fighting).

I'd though FF would be more of the creative side of things. New creatures & ideas.
MM seems like its basically the MM but for epic level stuff. Instead of Formians we have big flying bees, etc. Ala the download. More hit dice, more powers. Same aggressive expansionist insects. Wouldn't mind being surprised.
