WotC release schedule thru 2005

Fane? Is Monte writing for WoTC again? I'm sick of this word. Puh-lease come up with a new word!!

Not to mention, I (and I'm sure I'm not alone) was only aware of the definition as a wethervane. The weathervane of the drow just doesn't evoke the right feeling.

Though Temple of the Drow (the corrected definition of fane) is no better and quite cliche.

I hope the spell book has some new spells in it. I don't think I'll buy it if its just a compilation of all the spells from the complete books, the FR books and the Eberron books.

From a later post it looks like it's volume I of a series. If that's the case, it's gotta have new spells in it (or at least new OLD spells). There aren't enough spells in 3e to fill two entire books.

It's apparently meant to be setting-independent. How specific would you like them to get about a temple name, given that the name of the diety could well be different, depending on what world you're going with?

Ugh, it's people like this that make people like me lose out on the crunch material :\

There are people who like more crunch than fluff, you know. Fluff is easier to do (all it takes is an imagination) than it is to make crunch (that takes employment at WotC R&D team who playtest, balance out, and edit the new feats, PrC, spells, psionics, etc.).

In case no one's noticed, they've been adding more fluff than crunch a lot lately. Races of the Wild and Sandstorm for example. I'm sorely disappointed with Sandstorm. At a loss of more prestige classes, they added in stupid text with the new prestige class format they've used with Lost Empires of Faerun. As vast as the Wastes can be, only 7 seven prestige classes? Bah, I feel like I'm being ripped off, paying for text telling me what I "could do with it" rather than text saying what I "could have in my game".

Down with fluff-lovers! :]

I mean this in the nicest possible way - I hate you and your kind. ;)

Most places of worship I know of never mention a deity. United Methodist Church for example just includes the name of the group that worships there. So you come up with a nice background for the group of drow, perhaps a group cut off from their nation by duergar invasion. Over time, they migrated to a new place in the underdark and their leader fell under the command of a mind flayer named Ulsensis. Over time, he began a new faith worshiping the mind flayer as a chosen disciple of their gods (complete with thorough mythology of what the illithid did for their people). The temple was aptly named the Throne of Ulsensis. The drow followers the Ulsensine. The product could be called the Ulsensine Chamber, referring to the large cavern that contains the temple.

I came up with this in five minutes. Imagine what a group of professional designers could do with weeks of brainstorming.

I agree with that release schedule, but are you now including things like adventures and DM screens? (Note: I wouldn't count the DM Screen, either). As for the Magic of Eberron book, I'd like to see some Dragonmarked house coverage, but not too much. I'd like to see some other organizations of magic users created/fleshed out.

There are a lot of things that could go into a "Magic of Eberron" book. I'm curious what they'll choose to focus on.

What I'd like to eventually see is an organization book for Eberron. I could be done something like the "Lords of Darkness" book in format. You could cover the Dragonmark Houses, the Aureum, the followers of the Lord of Blades, some of the influential organized religions (Blood of Vol, Silver Flame), etc.

Wizards are still deciding what to do with the RPG licence. August Hahn posted a couple of days ago on the Living Force list that he'd let us know as soon as they made a decision.

Revenge of the Sith comes out May 19th. If they're still deciding what to do with the line now, in mid-March, then there sure as hell isn't going to be anything released to tie in with the movie. I'd lay good money on the line being as dead as a Very Dead Thing.

Pity, because the line could really use an updated starship book (and a significant rules update - AFTER PLAYTESTING IT this time, but I digress...)

Not bad I suppose, list looks a little light around the holiday season but oh well.

What are the priest and fighter books, i.e "Master of Chains" and such?
