WotC ruling on TWF + Flurry of Blows

I thought there was some previous ruling that stated Flurry of Blows didn't work with TWF.

There was in 3E; the monk rules changed a little in 3.5, but also, apparently, even rules where the wording didn't change now have different meanings :)

I think it's more than reasonable (and necessary to keep the DM's sanity) to rule 0 this WotC ruling into oblivion.

"There is no such thing as an off-hand attack for a monk. Flurry of blows class ability replaces the Two-Weapon Fighting feat and its improved versions for a monk fighting unarmed or with special monk weapons."

Which is absent in the 3.5 version, unless I am missing it.

Does anyone know if there's a saved version of the OP's linked thread somewhere online? The thread itself doesn't seem to exist on WotC's site anymore.

It was probably linked to the old WotC boards, which were moved at some point. Subsequently, many of the best threads were vanished for any of the OPs that didn't have them saved. Which is why I usually go to Brilliant Gameologists first for information, since they save everything like noboies business.

Wizards covered this in one of their latest Rules of the Games articles:

I know they covered it there but I'm specifically looking to read the forum thread since it did say Flurry and TWF could be used at the same time, even if it is outdated and a newer rules interpretation is up. I find it both amusing and annoying when WotC flip-flops like that and want to see the source and discussion.

Well, I know what my latest houserule is going to be! Can that class get any LESS love?

Agreed!

I don't think the TWF w/ unarmed works, as I prefer to just always treat it as one weapon for simplicity, but if they wanted to TWF w/ unarmed and another weapon, sure. And they defitely should be able to string natural attacks on the end; anyone else full attacking can do that, to deny it to monks is to just make them suck more.

Also to answer your rhetoical question: It's called Pathfinder. :(
