WotC Stores selling all D&D Books 40% off

I know most of you have heard this already and not to take any business away from friendly neigborhood hobby shop or those who advertise their service's here at ENWorld, but I was just at the WotC store here in Orange, Califonia and they had several STACKS of all the D&D Books at 40% off and even some modules were $5. They were all 3.0 and 3.5 edition stuff (as I did a little inventory of my own ;) ) The Miniature random packs were $8 (20% off). Some of the employee's were nice enough to inform me that if I they were out of stock on anything, they would call another store. Some of my players are there now as we speak. :)

Bought a set of the 3.5 core books for my players and Revised Star Wars just for grins. The only minis here at WotC in Upland are some leftover Harbinger starter packs which won't be worth it until they drop the discount below 20%. I'd also like to pick up Axis & Allies: Europe/Pacific but again, at only 20% discount they're not much of a bargain yet.

Of course you know this means they're cashing in on whatever they can before the release of 4th edition right?

(Said in complete sarcasm)

How long until some chicken-little comes in and proclaims the end of Hasbro/WotC owning D&D and the ultimate demise of d20??

If you subscribe to DND-L, they already have...

(Well, technically, they are asking about it).

This is why I wish WotC was in the Mid-West. Then I'd get to see some of these stores. Otherwise the gaming quality around M-town is pretty piss poor.
