WotC Stores?

Never knew about WoTC stores. There wasn't one in the Columbus area to my knowledge. It sounds like I might have liked them a bit, but that is mostly because of poor buying experiences at FLGS. The F in FLGS doesn't stand for Friendly to me. At least not in this town.

There were none in the South Carolina area, to my knowledge. Columbia has a fairly wide selection of gaming stores (about three or four), and my area only has the chain stores - if I want a non-WotC game book, I order from BAMM, Wal-mart, or Amazon. I visited one WotC store in Seattle WA back in 1999 on a business trip, and even then RPG was a dirty word at the store, from what I saw, and the TSR stuff they had was full retail price (not that I expected differently from a brick-and-mortar).

From a consumer standpoint, they really weren't felt in the loss; I imagine the people working for them have a different opinion. :(

I find that too many hobby stores sell books for above retail price, let alone charging the SRP that the WotC stores sold at. That's why Amazon gets most of my business.
Yes, I noticed this as well. It could be that I live in Canada, since we have no WOTC stores (and had none before either). However, every FLGS charges more than the MSRP. They all claim that the MSRP is unrealistic for Canada, that the costs of owning a building, shipping, etc makes it impossible to charge so little.
