Five Nations - Errrr an FR book?

No, Eberron. Personally, I'm looking forward to this. And Waterdeep. Actually, there's a couple of other books there that look really interesting.

What really caught my eye is Battlefield Adventures: A Genre Series Supplement. My first instinct would be to say it's same format as the Environment series, but... you know genre. Could be interesting, if done right...

Maybe it's because I'm a bit tired at the moment, but that list gets a "meh" from me.

Maybe once we have the official descriptions I'll be more enthusiastic.

I would love to see another huge minis pack though.

Aberrations sucked. :)

Likewise; this product has really captured my attention. I wonder if we will see some good (and yet simple) mass combat rules?

Hmmm. Champions of Ruin, I'm guessing is either FR, or aother monster book like Libris Mortis or Draconomicon. Five Nations will be Eberron, the title refers to 5 nations of the Last War.

DMG II? I find the title a bit...odd. Not sure about the veracity of that entry. I'd say the Explorer's Handbook will be an Eberron title, exploration is a big thing for that setting.

Maelstrom sounds like an aquatic sourcebook. If it is, count me in. A book of magic items gets a resounding 'meh' from me.

I don't believe the last entry there. Legends is too similar a title to the last Huge set, Giants of Legend. More importantly, its release date is WAY to close to that of Angelfire. They've announce a 4 month cycle. Breaking it to the tune of a 3 month delay, I can believe. 2 months though? No way.

Mass combat rules would be good. In particular we need rules for battles on a scale of larger than 1:1.

Also, I would like a quick resolution system for battles not based on minatures.

DMG II: Races Builders Series - Looks to be a book based around the idea of constructing your own races within the game. Ideas, mechanics, what-to-do, what not to do, etc. Seems Robin Laws is involved with that one...
I'm reminded of the 2E Skills & Powers point-buy race section. 15 points for elf bow familiarity, 5 points for infravision, etc. Throw in another attempt at monster classes and LA, along with the now standard sample for every idea filler, and you just might have 288 pages.

June 1, 05: Champions of Ruin

This sounds like an adventure title to me...

June 1, 05: Battlefield Adventures : A Genre Series Supplement

"Genre series supplement" must be a new series of books starting, it would be very nice to know what else they might have planned within it: City Adventures? Wilderness Adventures? "battlefiled" doesn't actually sound like the place however, but more like the style of adventures, so maybe other titles would cover different kind of adventures such as exploration-based or stealth-based or intrigue? Boh? :p

July 6, 05: Dungeon Master's Guide II : Race Builders Series

Absolutely no idea :\ there's already Savage Species for nonstandard races right? How can you fill another 300pages book with stuff like that? Not clear if "race builder series" is the subtitle of the book or it's the name of the series tho.

July 28, 05: Weapons of Legacy : A Magic Series Supplement

Ok with making a book of magic items but an ENTIRE series??? Does it mean there'll be a book about magic weapons, then a book about magic staffs, another about magic potion, etc?

Aug 24, 05: Explorer's Handbook

Again, no idea :) If they're going to gather stuff like a survival guide for D&D characters, I was really hoping it to go into Complete Adventurer which otherwise would just be left as the crappy last book of feats and prestige classes...

Interesting list...

It makes me curious more than excited at this point, though. The only thing on there that I suspect is a 'must-have' for me is Maelstrom. I am so down with some good aquatic adventurin' stuff! :D

Champions of Ruin - Could it be the next 'Creature Feature' book? (ala Draconomicon, Libris Mortis, etc.)

This could be a book on Demons. But somehow I suspect that it might be another book in the Alignment series. Or perhaps a monster/prestige class book of some sorts.

Five Nations - Errrr an FR book?

This would be a book on the Kingdom of Galifar's five nations: Breland, Aundair, Thrane, Karrnath and Cyre making this an Eberron book. It would certainly be a book that's needed as the five nations are a major part of the setting.

Yawn.

The only book seemingly slightly interesting is Maelstrom, and that is only if it was concerning waterborne/submarinal adventures. The others just leave me staring and wondering what on earth they are doing. Surely they could put some of that talent to better use?
