WotC Summer 05 Product Lists

You need to spread out the wealth more Rem.

My request for Champions is simple. IF (and this is a huge if considering how they nerfed Demon Princes and other Archfiends), they do have stuff on cults, they'd better darn well have some stuff on my boy Orcus. Otherwise I'll be very unhappy. Liber Mortis wasn't exactly thrilling but at least they gave him the nod. Better than nothing.

Otherwise meh on most everything save Champions and Maelstrom. (I support the guys I enjoy. Will, Joe. you got my dollars. better not insult me guys.)

cool

Well, I guess my bak account will be low for te forseable future!

Of course, I'm one of those guys that WotC loves becuase I just have to buy, eventually, every book (though, I'm not a big FR fan since Eberron came out).

Yikes! I'm beginning to think the SW Minis are the line WotC is using to see just how much a consumer is willing to pay for a product.
Remember that SW stuff is more expensive on account of George wanting his share as well.

Actually, up until the more recent Ultimate Missions, SWd20 books have been priced about even with the rest of the d20 products.

That doesn't mean its a good thing, but I'm not in the mood for another 'RPGs cost too much' discussion this soon...

Someone on RPG.net just posted this one: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...r=1-7/ref=sr_1_7/002-8979287-1880014?v=glance Didn't see anyone else had mentioned it yet (sorry if they have). Doesn't look like WotC is publishing it, but I imagine they had to authorize it for them to use the title.
You know, I remember that being mentioned a few months back...almost more of a joke that no one believed. WotC may not be PUBLISHING it, but look at the names on it...WotC writers.

Wow...

My fears about Wizards running out of steam have been dispelled in a big way.

The cover for Battlefield! Adventures is striking.

Battlefield Adventures provides everything one needs to know to play a battle-oriented D&D campaign. You can build military characters with new feats, spells, uses for traditional spells, and prestige classes. Information is given on tools specific to the battlefield, including siege engines, weapons, magic items, steeds, and other exotic mounts. Battlefield terrain aspects are discussed with plenty of illustrative maps and new rules. Specific types of battlefield encounters are discussed in detail, and the book provides specific detail on designing battlefields.

The Explorer's Handbook is indeed an Eberron book -

The Explorer’s Handbook showcases the multi-continental aspect of the Eberron setting. The chapter on travel discusses instantaneous and overland travel and provides deck plans for airships, the lightning rail, and galleons, plus other methods of conveyance. A chapter on Explorer’s Essentials offers information on travel papers, preassembled equipment kits, how to join the Wayfarers’ Foundation, and more. This handbook will encourage you to explore the entire world rather than remain fixed in one region.

I'm a bit worried about the state of my wallet, however. It's fine for the first part of 2005, but as for August!!!! (OTOH, with the current state of the American Dollar, I might be fine...)

I'm enjoying the exchange rate up here in Canada too....it probably won't change much for the next four years..

Battlefield Adventures may be interesting. Will have to see. I already have Fields of Blood, so I don't know if I'd need another book on the topic.

The Explorer's Handbook sounds interesting. Maelstrom looks cool. Hopefully some good stuff on undersea adventuring. I remember both "Of Ships and the Sea" and "Sea of Fallen Stars" from 2nd Ed. as being quite good.

Where are you finding the descriptions of the books? I checked Amazon, and they've got titles and authors involved, but not much else. Unless that changed this afternoon.

On the Wizards site.

Hmm. Something about the description of Battlefield Adventures makes me leery.

I think it's the terrain thing; I don't like some of the ways 3.5e terrain rules are implemented (too much focus on making the rules easy for the miniatures game, IMO).

The rest of the books sound fairly interesting.

It looks like 2005 will be a very interesting year for the d20 System is general (and a bit heavy on my pocketbook)...

It's good to know that WoTC is going to start some new product lines, and the new Eberron books have me frothing at the mouth.

While they were at it, did anyone check the d20 Modern release list for 2005? The next softcover will be d20 Apocalypse; exactly what my GM needs right now.
