I'm not in the mood for another 'RPGs cost too much' discussion this soon...
How about just a "things with the Star Wars logo on them cost too much" discussion? :)

Remember that SW stuff is more expensive on account of George wanting his share as well.
And probably realizing that in a relatively short time after RotS is released that particular cash cow is gonna get mightly lean, so he's gotta milk it for all he can while he can.

Anyone else think it's strange that the DMG II has a brown (player) cover? Propably still a mock-up, but...

Well...I'm alittle behind, so my comment is almost out of context..but yes, it does bother me...alot. It's Called DMGII, but's it's player suppliment brown: where do I put it on my shelf?!?!

Maybe we should start a write-in\email campaign to wizards to get it changed...anyone know the addresses? Nit-pickers ban together!

It'd probably be easier to just change the title. It's a race-building guide so something that says that might be more fitting. Of course, calling it the DMG II makes it sound far more essential than it is and will get it much more attention than Race-Building Handbook ever could. Yay for marketing!

It's not a race-building book. Go read the post on the top of page three of this thread.

Champions of Ruin

"Champions of Ruin

Forgotten Realms Campaign Supplement
Jeff Crook, Wil Upchurch, Eric L. Boyd

Everything you need to know to play evil or morally ambiguous characters in the Forgotten Realms setting.

Champions of Ruin is a comprehensive guide to playing evil characters in the Forgotten Realms setting. Many aspects of play are covered: vengeance, ambition, evil vs. evil, corruption and moral failure, loyalty and betrayal. The book also discusses types of evil -- lawful, chaotic, and neutral -- as well as morally ambivalent characters such as anti-heroes and rogues. Elder evils of extreme power are discussed along with tools, feats, spells, evil places and planar touchstones, and guilds and organizations that evil characters can join. Two new races are also introduced."

Richard Baker says it will have info on a fiend lords named Malkizid & Eltab & Also the 2 headed Slaad Lord Bazim-Gorag.

Dungeon Master's Guide II
Sounds useful, if both the design guide and the ready-to-use material are done well, I will be interested in checking this out. I also hope it will be fairly generic so that I can still use it for 3.0 games as well. :)

Battlefield Adventures
This sucks, guys... It mentions new rules, if it means mass-combat I cross my fingers that they get it right, and that it would cover different scales of battles. If those new rules fail, it runs the risk of being another book of martial feats/spells/prestige classes/magic items. :\

Champions of Ruin
There was already a book devoted to evil campaigns, and it was fairly setting-generic, what's the point of making a FR-specific one? There was also a FR book about evil organizations in Faerun long ago, with very little that required a 3.5 conversion. What's the point of this book? Ah wait! There are feats, spells, magic items, prestige classes!

Waterdeep
I don't usually buy them, but FR regional books have been all good so far. Furthermore, a book entirely devoted to one city can of course be reused in any setting with perhaps not too huge modifications.

Maelstrom
Well I haven't checked out the first in the series yet, so I don't know how much of this book is going to be actual rules (which I'd definitely like) or just crumbs. Water environments anyway deserved this book! ;)

Weapons of Legacy
I was actually thinking this would be a total crap, but now that I read the book seems to be more oriented to flavor aspects, it could be something very refreshing... :)

With the current trend in 3E publishing I'd hazard to guess that this is actually a book of Waterdeep-specific spells, feats, prestige classes and magic items - with a map and some dungeon-tiles. :p

The only books I'm really interested in are the Eberron books, and the DMG 2 (and based on the description on wizards site, this is probably a DMG that is truly a DM guide on how to RUN games and how to DESIGN adventures, which the current DMG fails on remarkably).

I'll probably purchase the new EQ2rpg phb and use that as my class system for running an Eberron campaign, and just pluck in the Eberron PrC into the EQ2 class system.

Oh yeah! ;) I will gladly take a look at it however, perhaps with a smaller but denser area to detail it could be pretty good. I have actually only had in my hands Silver Marches and Underdark, and IIRC they weren't full of too much character stuff (the second maybe had more classes, but for NPCs).
