I'd rather WoTC release a whole shelf-full of adventures than another "Complete Tosh" book containing broken feats, rogue-a-like prestige classes, wizard/fighter base classes and Yet Another Once-Was-Human race.

Adventures is what they do well, and long may they continue

Of course, if they created adventures that *also* showcased New Stuff as well (say, a new race like they did in Deep Horizon), and maybe a prestige class or unique feat that's only available in this adventure, then everyone is happy.

How about:

"My children, the bugbears on this blasted heath have been using displacer beasts against the hobgoblins to the North. I fear that they are driving them toward our village. Investigate and stop them, and I will teach you the secret of Kelvar's Towel Stance. This will allow you to defeat even the mightiest of foe while wearing only a bathrobe. I shall take one of you as an Initiate of the Towel. It is a great honour."

Then you'll have the Towel Stance feat and a new prestige class, both of which have the prerequsite of "must be one of the adventurers which solved the bugbear problem for Kelvar". Of course, if there aren't any displacer beasts, but a special Displacer Bugbear tribe that's fully stated up, you've also got a cool new critter too.

Crunch, and adventure. Works for me.

You know, I don't mind the odd adventure from WotC, but I am not a completist and it is annoying that it looks like they are jumping back on the adventure bandwagon. I don't need them to publish adventures, I mean what, doesn't Dungeon pick up the slack? Does anyone feel annoyed by this?

So...just don't buy the WOTC adventures?

Maybe I'm not understanding, but if a company produces things that I have no use for I just dont buy them.


Pesonally, I prefer the adventures to the rules suppliments, there are enough Feats, Alternate Classes and PrC's out there from WOTC alone to choke a donkey...

Their newest adventures are excellent. It seems like they are including what they learned with Fantastic Locations (very nice battlemaps) in the new adventures.

I don't care for the new stat block (it severely annoys me), but other than that I love their new stuff.

After the stellar adventures WotC has produced lately, titles like Sons of Gruumsh and, of course, Red Hand of Doom, I'm all for them getting back into adventure-making.

I am on supplement-overload right now. New adventures are a welcome change of pace, especially really good ones.

What I do expect, is that WotC will try to do a little cross product promotions by innoculously linking little portions to their supplements like...
magical items using Weapons of Legacy rules
ship combat situations using Stormwrack rules
a desert trek using Sandstorm rules
They will probably include simplified ways to accomplish the tasks, but will suggest checking out their 'other product' for better and more complete rules.

Not that this is bad, it would help me to fully incorporate the use of the various books that tend to sit on my shelf most of the time, only being refereced for the occasional feat or spell.

To repeat what has already been said

Yes, I really like the new adventures, and am more likely to buy them then other products (especially if they start doing higher level ones, now that they have so many for the "sweet spot" levels).

And yes, there is a context. There is a lot of player options, rule alternatives, campaign settings, setting related suplements...etc...out there for 3.5. (and there is Dragon as well as Dungeon). In this context, more adventures please.

It is the type of product. I have a subscription to Dungeon, which gives me my adventure fix, currently the Savage Tide mega-module.

No one says you have to buy everything that comes out. Don't buy adventures from WOTC if you can get you fix elsewere.

WotC's decision to get back in the module market is, in one part anyway, a response from the fans to do just that. I support it and I'm pleased about it.
If you're not a completionist, then what's the problem?
