Mutants and Masterminds.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatelly I haven't read or played M&M yet. I know this is not the right thread to ask for further elaborations on that aspect of this game but I will try to find some info around and check it out. Heck, if I can play PoP with M&M it will be my next rpg book priority.

I liked Al Qadim but since I played Prince of Persia on computer I have always desired roleplaying rules mechanics for its style.

Daring against complicated traps and enemies placed in the same room by performing ninja acrobatics. Being able to evade punches of zombie giants and jumping on them to stab them in the back.

Any ideas on anything that could deliver this sort of thing?

Iron Heroes would be my best advise. For wide open heroic maneuvering its great. Magic was lacking in the original edition, but there have been some outstanding changes made to it since its release. And its written by Mike Mearls, which is a plus.

I have no idea. I doub that any game designer could ever pull that kind of play of in a RPG!
Alternate Answer: So, you're accusing D&D 4 of becoming videogamey and see PoPismn all over the place?!

;)

They have said that 4e will be taking terrain interaction -traps especially- into high tactical account. Only that we haven't seen anything particular about it yet :(

And back closer to the topic. Its true that Mearls has moved on.

Why bother with Iron Heroes, when 4thed is supposed to be all that. And a bag of chips.

I always looked at Al-Qadim as an "easy" version of Dark Sun, but based on the passion of some of the posts in this thread, I'm going to check it out a little more deeply. This is especially true when there is the inevitable "reimagining" for 4e, whether on a fan site, in a dragon article, or a campaign guide.

Thaumaturge.

Because it is just "supposed" to be -for the time being? I wish we got some crunchy scoop on this part of mechanics.

Free advice: back sloooowly away from the Iron Heroes fans. Don't make any sudden moves and don't show any signs of panic.
