Would you buy new 100% compatable 1E modules?

If anyone publishing for OSRIC is interested in hiring an old school cartographer who works fast and on the cheap, I'm available for any gig. :)

Black and white or blue and white, I remember when one square was equal to ten feet - and we LIKED it! :p

jaerdaph, please shoot me an email with some samples in blue/white and black/white :D

If a 1e or 0e module was a) on paper, b) available at my FLGS, and c) any good, I'd be in. I mean, I'm reduced to buying 3.5e modules these days and converting, as too many of my players are too familiar with the old classics. :)

Now that I'm DMing OD&D and 3.5 games (thereby getting the best of both worlds) it's a definite yes from me.

Would lower priced materials with less professional production values be accepted? I don't mean poorly written or poorly edited, but all black-and-white, little or no artwork, et cetera. What about PDF only, along those lines?

I'm on record as saying that modules should not have pretty artwork unless it is desgined & placed so as to be shown to the players. Any artwork within the main text of the module should be functional. It should be designed solely to communicate things the DM needs to know that are better communicated via image than text.

& I prefer maps to be easy to mark up rather than pretty.

But then, I've sworn off modules, so it may be best to ignore me. (^_^)

Lane, XRP has managed to get its products into the FLGS through a distributor. So, their Advanced Adventures are either on the shelf or you can order them.

I have been buying the XRP .pdfs. The only Advanced Adventure I got in printed form was Pod Caverns, which is a great adventure. However, for the page-count, the price is much more appealing for the .pdfs and in some ways I can get more use out of a .pdf (print multiple pages, alter the maps to provide handouts to players, etc.). I would gladly accept lower "flash" old-school print products that were more reasonably priced. I would also be more likely to buy the print version if it came with a free coupon for a .pdf download.

By the way, this isn't meant as a shot at XRP. I'm sure they have a good reason for setting the price where it is, it's just a little too high for my budget.

Thats actually a really good idea. I was also wondering if those who "need to see" the product first hand might be willing to risk an order if the publisher offered some sort of money back guarentee or equiv (free future PDFs etc.). Or is it that you just don't like to order over the net (which is a real concern for some still).

i would buy 100% compatible OD&D(1974) products.

i've purchased the 1edADnD ones recently but i still have to do a conversion to real D&D to get them to work for the campaign
