Would you get a 4th edition?

Would you get 4E today if it came out, and 3.5 did not?

No. I can't afford it. I'd download the SRD, though, and test it out.

Of course, d20M is taking up more of my time now, and with the D20A(nime) SRD released, and the Deluxe version of BESM D20 headed my way in a few months, I can't see me playing 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0 for a little while yet.

EDIT: But since the poll dosen't stipulate "buying", I voted for "getting 3.5 would get 4E" since I can download the SRDs.

If 4th edition came out this year in addition to 3.5, I'd still buy both. Then again, this is a cheap hobby. It'd be a different story if the entry point was over $100.

It'd depend on what the 4th edition is like.

I'm a "use the right tool for the job" kind of gamer. I don't want two systems that do pretty much the same thing, because I'd essentially be wasting money. I want two sytems that do rather different things.

No, to both. My players have expressely told me that they are only interested in buying new PHBs once every 10 years.

Never thought I'd say this, but sometimes my players make my life so easy! ;)

If it's simpler, not as high-powered, etc....maybe....if it came out a few years LATER....about 8 years from now, maybe.

Sure, I would...
Just like Microsofts latest OS...

Hey, maybe they could package them together!

Get the latest revision of eTools (Now able to catch your scanner on fire!) with Windows DA (Now able to melt CD's on the shelf) and D&D vX.0 (Now able to melt your dice in thier bag!) all in one nifty package for $350.

Comes out every May, after we all have our tax returns.

They can include free coupons for a beat-down too...

No. I'd probably stop playing the game altogether. Actually, I'd just stop buying anything from WoTC. I want this new 3.5 to last a minimum, bare minimum of 6 more years. Otherwise, thats it for me.

Grrr...grr...4th ed...grrr...don't even mention it. Not even a rumour. Not even a joke.

6 years? Easy. Just skip the new edition coming out in 3 years, and get only the one after it, in 6 years. ;)
