Would you leave your life behind?

clarifications

yes your new body is fit to your liking. abilities-18, 16, 12, 12, 12, 10 or something similar. You wanna be buff, your buff. You wanna be hot, Spears ain't got nothin on you.

Its a FANTASY world of your choosing. That means cool outfits, underwear and items you won't find in the dark ages of Europe. No black plague and crap like that. You only catch diseases when the story calls for it (and you fail your save). As long as you adventure your subject to all the perks of a PC and all the pain that goes with it...

I didn't say "your wife can come" cause who adventures when they are married? I'm not married, but I do have a real close girlfriend. And though I love her, I'd still jump.

Keep the ideas comin! What class? What would you want to achieve?

Would you do it?

Without hesitation.

Would you leave it all behind?

I have nothing to leave behind- I generally hate the world around me. :)

Your friends, your family, your dog.

I have.. None, None, and none.

Would you get up and go right then?

If I could have a day or two, then I would appreciate it. I would go have all my favorite foods and give my money away.

If not, then I would go.

It would be nice if I could take some stuff..business books, engineering books, my car, and my monster manual. *grin*

Al-Qa *fricken* Dim, here I come.

What would I be? A wizard or Sha'ir.

That's really a silly question then.

I would choose a fantasy world like Oz, but with porn stars...

For a good feel of how medieval life (if not fantasy necessarily) was very tough and deadly read TIMELINE by Michael Crichton. After reading that book you wouldnt be so sure about crossing that gate. Gives you the gritty feeling of that age. If you havent read it you shouldnt be on this board....

Death is ever present. Violence is much more common. A fantasy setting where you are minimally "powerful" could help you avoid most diseases... otherwise your teeth will fall pretty fast. Never mind the horrible things and places adventurers get into. ( If you dont adventure you dont have gold ! )

The issue of will your body be a 4d6 stat body is a good issue too. Otherwise most will continue to be experts or become mages due to lack of muscles... :) ( Maybe except Eric Noah who has 15 dex ! Roguish ? )

So tough place ? Really sure you wanna go ? Me too... I would go in a blink... :) Life over here isnt exactly thrilling... and I would probably be a Rogue/Fighter of some sort.

Since my "favorite fantasy world" is Valdemar, yes I would Valdemar is a bit more advanced than normal worlds... most of the really major cities (The capitals of countries and one or two others) even have non-magical indoor plumbing. And that's not even talking about what the Talandrys have. Healers are even able to cure Polio, which they know by the name Hammer Lung... The living conditions wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Lack of computers and the internet would suck, though.

Yes, I would. I would like to take my library of books if possible, though.

As far as leaving things behind... The only part that would be bad is leaving my mother and father behind. My friends... heck, they would be jealous :).

I'd take whatever stats I needed to become an adept-level wizard (Preferably the high-end of adept to boot), and be Talandrys... k'Vala, preferably. And If I could choose the point in time at which to go there, it would probably be ~100 years before the rise of Morelinth Falcsonsbane... I don't wanna be there for the second Mage Storms... No point in becoming a great wizard just to be reduced to the state of an apprentice because of the mage storms.

It would mean leaving my family behind, so no chance on that. Also, considering the mortality rate of a typical D&D world, even with all my D&D knowledge, I still wouldn't like the odds.

Furn Darkside's reply was good. I see a similar feeling to my lack of interest with the real world. True killing would go up. Killing my first goblin would probobly be a big reality check. But again ai stress the real deal ELVEN CHICKS AND SPELL BOOKS! That should be a song...:p
