Greetings!

Indeed, Morrus, I would be very willing to donate such money to you--and getting those extra features that you mentioned would be very cool, and useful, too!:)

I'd pay the $25 for a year.

I mean, private messaging would be cool, but I'm assuming that a side-effect of the server upgrade will also be a negation of the 200-user limit, yes?

I just voted yes.

Not because I care about those features, because.. well, I haven't exactly -missed- them.

However, keeping ENWorld running smoothly and without forcing Morrus to take Skill Focus (Begging) and a few levels of Expert to powergame up that panhandling skill is very good :D

I voted YES because I love you man.:) and I would pay to help this site.

The only real freature I see useful is search and I think that should be available to everyone.

I suggest this:

for $10-15/yr we get all those fun features turned on. This is roughly $1-$1.20/month, even 1 cup of coffee is more than this. With the amount of people that would sign up for it, even 10% of the people on ENWorld signing up for this would be around 6k people if not more.

6000X$1/month=$6000/month.

And that is garunteed for 1 yr. With this influx of cash you could turn on all the fun features such as avatars and so forth that aren't specific to the subscribers.

I would make it a 2 prong attack:

1. get enough people to sign up for a subsciption(or contribution your choice) they get all the nice bells and whistles while noncontributers don't get the above features but are still more than able to surf the board and post and not detracting from the normal day to day use of the boards.

2. Once a mark is hit by contributors, turn on the global features such as avatars and whatnot that aren't gained by subscription but are boardwide.

Using this people will get to keep the boards up and with the entire support of the community you will have benefited everyone by providing features for all to enjoy when everyone comes together.

pay pal?

Interesting.
I didn't vote. I'd be willing to pay 2 or 3 bucks right now for
what I get. 5 or 6 or 7 to stop the message board limit
from blocking me out. But I don't really want any new features.

But the real problem is HOW do I pay you?
I'm too lazy to mail a check. (And do you want to cash
300 5 dollar checks drawn on banks across the world?

I'm certainly not willing to send out my credit card.

What is needed is an advancement in technology
or acceptance of the technology.)

Perhaps when enough people begin to use services
like PayPal then such transactions will work (I don't have
anything like it yet, but I assume some time I will.)

I guess I've talked my way in to a no vote, but I really WOULD
pay something if it were easy for me. And making it
easy for me is beyond your control. (Mostly beyond your
control.) As more sites I like run in to your problem and put
out PayPal "tip jars" then I'd likely change my answer to
a yes.

since morrus has setup reaccuring payments via paypal, i believe this would be the standard method to pay. Since paypal is relatively 'free', anyone can use it. You would use your CC and pay through a secure channel to morrus and he would open up the features for you. Of course if you simply want to contribute a copule of dollars than by all means go ahead.

You could proabably use several methods:

paypal
E-gold
Money order
Cashiers Check
Certified check
bidpay
Billpoint

Anytype of online payment would be fine but paypal is by far the fastest, easiest, and most reliable of them all to use.
