Would your group stop a woman from joining?

Would your group stop a woman from joining?

I would prevent people from joining that wanted to keep a gender or a nationality or other out. Sorry, I have a problem with prejudice. I would either leave the table or boot you from it for an infraction like this and there are only a few items that would cause me to boot someone.

More than half of the gaming groups I've gamed with have had women - some more than one. I can't imagine anyone I know not wanting a woman in the game.

Yes, because girls are icky. That anyone is actually treating this poll seriously is boggling.

Sorry, but I thought this was a very valid question to ask.

4th Choice

Actually our host's older female cousin asked to join but we turned her down. I think our main excuse...er...reason was because we have 5 players and I do not like to have more than that, but also that fact that she was like ten years older than any of us (the oldest being 17, youngest 16). Our group isn't the most...erm...polite? cultured? group ever.

I think that we should of given her a chance, but everyone else said no.

Now, what sane 27 year old woman would want to hang out with a bunch of teenaged boys?

I'm guessing that her age and gender were not the only reasons people had reservations.

I have trouble believing that any actual group of gamers over the age of 13 would actually hang a "No Girls Allowed" sign on the front door of their game.

Really, is this actually an issue that comes up?

My current game: 3 Male Players, 3 Female Players. Two are bisexual and one is transgendered.

Every game I've ever played in or run has had a fair share of female players, I know plenty of female gamers, and they run the spectrum from hardcore Hack n' Slashers who would make Bob Herzog proud, to "real roleplayers" who don't know the rules and just want to play their character how they see fit. In other words: You get a wide variety of styles in male and female gamers and sex has little to do with how somebody plays the game.

As far as I know, gender would not be a factor in exclusion from our regular gaming group. Not meshing with our sense of humor and fun, or erratic behaviors, however, definitely would be.
