WoW Imitates 4e?

I'm sad to say Dragon Age and Mass Effect, that while not MMORGs, kicked the panties off my gaming group when it comes to roleplaying. Heck, every Baldur's Gate 2 would give them a run for their money ("Hmm...Magic is impressive...but now...MINSC leads! SWORDS FOR EVERYBODY!")
My group is very RP-heavy and can top those, but yeah, point well taken.

It'll be interesting to see how this argument evolves when Bioware's Star Wars: The Old Republic comes out next year.

Yeah, but the Monks in D&D seem to be more influence by Cain from Kung-Fu whereas the monks in Scarlet Monastery seem to be more influenced by western European monks.
Not exactly. There is a specific unit in SM named "Scarlet Monk", that fights with his fists and feet, ala D&D monks.

There's also the "Auchenai Monk" in the BC dungeon Auchenai Crypts. It's a draenei with no armor and a staff, also very D&D monk-like.

So there is definitely precedence for a D&D-style monk in WoW.

After spending a few minutes at the site, I now think this will be very cool.

I was reading all the info as it came out last weekend, I just hadn't seen the trailer yet. Even after watching the trailer, my reaction is still that this is the first time there is a WoW expansion and my take on things ranges from "meh" to "that's awful". Very disappointed and I've been playing WoW since Stress Test in September '04.

You mean a shifter?

Shifters can't change like that.

And shifters have been around since 3e....in case you didn't know (sad what some people don't know, I assume you do)

as for the werewolf option, this is where 4e lost me.

Everything was an option which made the normal human fighter seem kinda...uncreative :.-(

Who cares about uncreative? Play what you like.

I tend to play either Lawful Stupid Paladins or Chaotic Stupid Barbarians, because I enjoy hitting things with heavy, pointy metal and charging blindly into bad situations. Who cares if they're cliche?
