Wraith scores a crit

A wraith normally does 1-4 damage and 1-6 CON drain when it hits.

If a wraith confirms a critical, is the damage then 2-8 hit points and 2-12 CON drain?

Yup. A critical hit is the exact same thing as scoring 2 normal hits in combat, or more with a higher multiplier.

Deadly, innit? I had this happen when I ran my conversion of the Gates of Firestorm Peak- basically, a crypt thing teleported one pc alone into a dark room full of wraiths and things got ugly.

That was my first experience with wraiths in 3e. Ow!

In our last session, we learned the true power of a weapon master with Power Critical, Increased Multiplier and a life-drinking sword (2 negative levels per hit). One of our tanks got 16 levels drained in two rounds. Yowch!

I thought for sure this was one of my PC's posting in cognito! I am running a highly modified conversion of the original Ravenloft module (the party is evil) and there are a couple of wraiths in there. Second hit on the party caster was a crit, 2x damage and 2x CON damage, which crippled him. Between the damage and the lost hp from lower CON he dropped like a sac of potatoes!

Nah, I'm the DM and this happened last night:

DM: Wraith attacks, ouch a 20, confirms. That's gonna hurt with a d6 CON drain.
Player: Well, it can't kill me at least.
DM: Hmm, that sounds like a good way to curse yourself..
Die Roll: 6
Die Roll: 6
DM: Yup, that was a self-curse alrighty (glad I roll in the open).

The player, and his two remaining CON points survived the fight after a brief bout of incapacitation. It's a long way to the nearest Restoration spell so I wanted to be sure about the damage inflicted.

So for things that drain energy levels, the drain is doubled as well?
(ie. a crit from a spectre drains FOUR levels?!)

Yep, and a crit from a life-drinking-greatsword-wielding weapon master with x3 crit drains six levels.

Did I mention that that tank of ours who got drained 16 levels was only 15th to start with?
